Remember those false NYC adult-bookstore arrests last year?
A gay man would get accosted by a cute guy and asked to continue the tryst somewhere else; on his way out with his new paramour, the man would find himself in handcuffs, accused of prostitution. Pretty funny, considering some of these guys were middle-aged tourists.
Not so funny: Gay City News reports this week that “there are some indications that the targeting of gay men for arrest in porn shops has gone on longer and is more widespread than the city is admitting.” The story’s chilling; take a look.
PS – This guy, Robert Pinter, had the guts to go public with his case, which helped blow the whistle on the whole police scam.
