We couldn’t care less about tripe like Valentine’s Day, which plops into theaters tomorrow.  But New York magazine has ignited a mini-firestorm over the movie, whose trailers hide the fact that leading man Bradley Cooper falls in love with hunk Eric Dane, not – as the preview insinuates – Julia Roberts.

  1. Murray Todd Williams Says:

In this case I think it was appropriate to remove hints of a gay romance from the movie trailer. The reveal was meant as a surprise plot twist—one that would have been completely flattened had the trailer somehow provided a spoiler. NY Mag is trying to make hey out of something this really quite innocuous.

Tripe? Come on! Valentine’s Day was a cute little feel-good romance movie, and one finally intended for Gay and straight audiences alike. Be kind.
