A group calling itself Queer Rising will protest our unequal rights in front of the New York City Office of the City Clerk’s Marriage Bureau this Friday at 8am. It’s at 141 Worth St. in Manhattan. Click here for directions.
That’s also National Freedom to Marry Day.
According to Queer Rising’s Facebook page, it’s intended as “a significant act of civil disobedience to rival the lunch-counter sit-ins of the 1960s, in which black Americans asserted their rights of equal treatment by society at large.”
