Daniel “Harry Potter” Radcliffe tapes PSA to help prevent gay teen suicide

“I have always hated anybody who is not tolerant of [the gay community]. Now I am in the very fortunate position where I can actually help.”

That’s Harry Potter/Equus star Daniel Radcliffe to the Associated Press, which reports the actor just filmed a PSA for The Trevor Project.  The organization focuses on suicide prevention efforts among gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered youth.

New fund seeks to unseat homophobic NY legislators

It’s about time.  A new political action committee is seeking to unseat NY state legislators who voted against the marriage-equality bill last year.

FightBackNY was set up and funded by a group of donors to LGBT causes, most notably philanthropist Tim Gill of Denver (above).

Weird homophobe Ryan Sorba, whose thoughtful contribution to the political dialogue is a book called The Gay Gene Hoax, was booed off the stage at a conservative event after condemning homosexuality from the podium.

For same-sex couples, NYTimes offers must-read tax tips

The invaluable Tara Siegel Bernard, who spoke to OP in December, offers a must-read rundown of tax tips for same-sex couples in her NYTimes.com “Bucks” column this week.

Fun fact:  Over the course of their lifetimes, same-sex couples could spend around $12,300 more on tax preparation fees than their heterosexual counterparts, Siegel writes.
