Survey: Most LGBT adults would prefer to work in states that recognize same-sex marriage

As if we needed it, here’s yet another reason why equal rights make sense.

According to the 2009 Out & Equal Workplace Survey, released this month, 71 percent of LGBT adults would prefer a job with an employer based in a state where marriage equality is recognized over an employer based in a state where it’s not.

If you’re an employer looking to recruit the best talent, that could present some major opportunities- or problems. (more…)

After the horrific beating of Jack Price this weekend in Queens, we were encouraged to hear Christine Quinn, Ray Kelly, and Queens DA Richard Brown go on the record with condemnations of the attack.

Then we heard one of the assailants’ friends on WABC, and realized just how much trouble we’re in if this is who we share NYC with. (more…)
