Lesbian opera stars invite magazine into their home

We know as much about opera as we do about professional sports, which isn’t much.

But it’s somehow still surprising to read in Opera News that one of the world’s leading sopranos – Patricia Racette (above) – has a wife.

Even better, the spouse is another opera star.

LezGetReal reports that Illinois Rep. Jan Schakowski (above) “is bisexual, and the Turks sent a female agent to seduce Rep. Schakowski.”

“Rep. Schakowski was added to an investigation regarding a blackmail ring originating out of Turkey.”

Coming out at age 13: NYTimes profiles gay tweens

At age 13, we had a peach-fuzz mustache, got bar-mitzvahed, and played Pac-Man.

Now, 13-year-olds come out to classmates and chase same-sex crushes.

The New York Times Magazine this week does an amazing job of reporting on brave pre-teens who are dealing with their sexuality – and how others are dealing with them. (more…)

Straight woman on Olivia cruise has revelation about lesbian life

When San Francisco Chronicle reporter Beth Spotswood won an Olivia cruise in a San Francisco Gay Pride raffle, she didn’t let her heterosexuality stop her from enjoying her prize.

In fact – like a good reporter – she used it as a learning opportunity about lesbian life.
